I agree I love the tank busters. I have fallen in love with the genus amphilophus. I love the glass banging and gill display they exhibit. I did the community tank as well with my africans. Don't get me wrong I loved the setup but I wanted something different. Honestly, my favorite part about keeping centrals is watching the pair dynamic as well as the breeding/parental care. Something you just don't get from mbuna. To me there is nothing cooler than seeing two dedicated cichlid parents surrounded by a cloud of fry. I would have no problem dedicating a tank to a pair of dovii considering I had the space. I have never been a fan of the central american community tank with just random single specimens but that is just me. To me the ultimate CA setup would be a tank with multiple pairs in a large system interacting with each other flaring fins and raising young.
