Putting 6 snakeheads, One Pacu and a Pleco in a 10 gallon tank. They were all very tiny when i first got them. Let's just say I had to return most of them to the LFS after a few weeks.

you only returned "most" of them?

As a noob, I added bottle after bottle of "pH Down" acid & wasted a bunch of money & got a lot of holes in my shirts (like 10 shirts ruined) & stressed my fish & turned my tank into a science project! Now I use large water buckets with airstones to age my tap water for a few days. It really does lower the pH, but I have no idea how it works...

I never cycled my tank before adding fish. If that's not bad enough, I rarely changed the water either. Thank goodness we learn from our mistakes!

when i got my 180 gal acrylic i did not clean the sponge where the water was going into the sump. about two months after being set up i looked a t my tank and saw that there was no water coming out of the returns and the water level was low. i checked in the stand and saw that my sump had overflowed, left about two inches of water in my stand, and killed my pumps and air pump. 2 days and $400 later i learned my lesson of cleaning the sponge
