What on earth is going on here?! Strange couple!

Definitely a male Jag.

jag's 110% male, don't know sal's enough to sex it. should make for some great looking hybrids, keep us posted whether it be here or in the hybrid section.

oh and yeah, can you show us the post where the jag was said to be a female?

jag is 100% male salvini is 100% female and you have to grow some fry out just to see what they look like. i had a female dovii spawn with a red bay snook but she would always eat the eggs.

Will do, can they hybrid? Will the genetics allow it?

I certainly will, just hope they hatch as the Jag is looking a bit edgy and as if he might eat some but another night has passed and they are still there and all fertilized minus 10 or so.

If you are able to grow out some of the fry, that would be one AWESOME hybrid.

Jalvini's sound cool. :D

yes i imagine they can hybridize, weirder things have happened.

If they are still not fungused over I'm sure they are fertile and you'll have wigglers soon. A while back I had a female sal breed every 4-6 weeks with a large male Midas and the eggs were fertile as well. I think a Jag and Sal are less far apart in evolution then a Sal and Midas so I see no problem with them producing hybrids.
