I missed that thread. I can see why they thought it was a female. It's markings weren't showing very well back then, especially on the tail and dorsal, but the body shape screams male.
:iagree: the head shape gives it away!

I would destroy the eggs, I do itwhen some of my fish pair up and produce hybrid eggs, My male jaguar has spawned with a female H.pantostictus twice, eggs were fed to other fish.....

lol purists, it not like in a store any of these will be sold as a jaguar or a salvini, most people on this forum are more responsible than that

your like the vampires in underworld......DONT MIX THE BLOODLINES!!!! haha as long as they dont get sold to others and pollute the bloodline i dont see a prob with hybrids.

^ Agree with the last two post. To each his own, I know I'd keep them... to myself.

Well that confirms it, they are both female, the sal has now laid eggs on the other side of the pot, I'm a bit disappointed to be honest with you :(

how does that confirm that they're both female? i thought you said earlier in the thread that you weren't certain which fish layed the eggs? all that really does is confirm that your sal is a female, i'm still sure that you have a male jag.

I agree, also if both are female all the eggs would be turning white by now

Look at your two prior quotes listed below. How could they be two females?

The eggs are still looking yellow after at least 24 hours...

Real strange, I've just checked again and there are a few white eggs but only 5 or so whereas the others are still a nice beige indicating they are fertilized, I'm really confused now

we already confirmed that that sal was a female, and we think the jag is a male. So, it is not unexpected for the female to lay more eggs. lol
