What should i do with my Oscar?

just donate it back to any LFS, don't ask for money just take him in and say you can't house him. Do the same thing with your RTC. And next time spend more time researching. Thats half the fun anyway!

alright ill give petsmart a call tomorrow and see if maybe they can provide for this fish and give it a better chance.
 
yes, do some research before u get anymore fish. u could put it up on craigslist as a free oscar and someone will take him right away. petsmart will take fish back but they ask for a receipt so if u can find it great.
 
why the big rush to sell him now...feed him, care for him, enjoy him, in a few months when he out grows your tank then sell him, via LFS, Craigslist or MFK Classifieds. at worst you give it away free to one of the three previously mentioned. I don't see why people always assume if you buy a fish you have to keep it for life. People buy and sell fish for various reasons. Some hobbyist change up every so many years. but now if you are a lifer fish keeper then you better jump on your horse and sell it NOW haha
 
Just take it back or maybe exchange it for something else like a jack dempsey...they are good for a 55g and have great colors.
 
I have had to return fish before when I was younger and didnt have any trouble, if they are a decent store they will take it back
 
Mine went to a seafood restaurant. They have oscars in Several of the chinese rest. around town too. Many years ago I sold a 18 inch black arrawana to a chinese place for 200$....I woulda gave it to them
 
To clarify:) I sold them to be in tanks in the restaurants, not to be served as food:)
