What size tanks should i buy?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I thought at one time that I wanted a bigger tank, but decided that 300 gallons wasn't really what I wanted. I bought a 180 and it was a bit too big for my house. If I had a better fish room then I would like a bigger tank.

dog wut u gonna put in em
If it is ust the usual assortment go w/ some 75s
but if u gonna do something real cool like aros or sumthin the go 125

Go with the 125 PERIOD! If money is no object, then having the flexability with the potential fish and the envirnment needed, bigger is better. The type of fish that interest you today might not be the type you like 6 months from now?

Get 75s overall you would get more gallonage/ dollar unless you plan on getting tankbusters then thats also a reason for the 75s.

Man too much pressure. I can't take the pressure I'm gonna crack! Ok well the fish that I'm going to stock the tanks with are:

1 Amarillo
1 Barred Midas
2 Bocourti
1 F1 Citranellum

Finally someone who gets my jokes. I was starting to think that I wasn't a funny guy, but you saved the day. I now have my self esteem back.

Ok I went to the petshop again and finally decided. I'm going to purchase a 5' 100 gallon tank with a high end stand and canopy for my living room. Then I'm going to also purchase two 75s with the double stand for my fish room. What do you think is this a plan?

How much more is the 125 set up compared to the 100? If you want a centerpiece for the living room, I'd go with a single larger tank. (For the fish room, I still vote the 6 75s!)

Substantially more expensive. I can get the 5' wide tank for $650 with tax. That is with the stand and canopy. The 6' tank was $1380 for the same exact stand and canopy, but the tank had an overflow. I couldn't justify the cost difference for only 1'. My LFS guy is getting me the 5' tank pretty cheap, so it offsets the cost quite a bit.

I will probably only get two 75s for now. I can always replace the others later if there is a real need.
