u can get rainbow tetras
I don't think there is any tetra that would ever thrive in a 1G, much less more than one.

If you go saltwater clam be advised that i have been informed by a local lfs owner that clams under 1 inch will almost always die on you. I had a 1inch blue maxima clam for a few months before it went awol, it litteraly skipped town and left his shell behind. there was nothing to eat him in the tank. but they are very beautiful

I don't think i'd ever try keeping a 1G marine tank! :WHOA:

I have the same tank.
Little one gallon rectangle.

Try this and see if you like it.
This is what I did.

they have heating pads (for reptiles) that you can place UNDER the tank. ($6)
I used the UGF that came with it,

One teeny tiny piece of lava rock with a hole in it. ($2)
Teeny tiny piece of malaysian driftwood ($6)
2 Java Fern ($8)
Misc. unknown cuttings
Jet black gravel (stolen from another tank)
Red Cherry shrimp

I liked the effect so much that I did a 5 gallon in a similar fashion.

those tanks all look great!

mine isn't too shabby, either. I should take a pic.

I moved the betta in there today, althought it's only a tenth the space he's gotten used to, he seems happy to be away from those dithery rasboras. it's only 70 degrees, but he's just as active as he was in my 78 degree 10G. I think i'll get one of those little pads.
