Offroad all the way. ^^ Nice avatar jason, is that you? I love longboarding.

I honestly like any kind of modified car, if its modified with taste. Can't stand trucks with lifts too big to use, or imports with crazy body kits and wings and only an intake and exhaust done for performance. Ultimate dream car would be a 49 Caddy fastback custom.

I prefer late model muscle, especially anything GM. When I get it running I'll post up pix of the 700hp Trans Am I'm building.

got any specs or what your building?
im pushing almost 400hp from my cam only trans am.

I like all kinds of cars.

But my first car will be a 1991 Nissan 240sx. Probably going to be a "Sleeper" I will lower it some, and get a nice body kit, but nothing too crazy on the outside. The engine will be craaaazy though. I'm really into drifting, so the car will probably be set-up more for that style, it also being a Rear-wheel drive, and also one of the most selected cars for teaching yourself how to drift in. Should be a fun project.

staying with stock ka or swaping?

i'm a fan of old cars, I have a 1964 1/2 mustang pearl white with blue and white pony interrior. Will be getting a much better engine when i graduate.

I'm also thinking about getting a 77 stingray orange, mint condition.

So i'm a fan of the muscle cars.

Swapping, With the stock KA as I'm getting the car used, so its gonna have high mileage and if I have a shop do the rebuild its gonna go something like this: $700 to pull and replace the motor, $1500 for machine shop labor, parts (pistons $400, rods $400, new water pump $50, oil pump $250, head gasket $200, head studs $150, etc.)

But:
SR20DET-
Pros:
-JDM Tyte
-Already turboed from the factory
-Better aftermarket support
-Lighter
-Better high-end
-Easier swap

Cons:
-Electrical work
-You have no idea what the condition of the engine is in
-Replacement parts are harder to find

KA24D/ET-
Pros:
-Low-end Torque
-Engines/parts are easier to find
-Cheaper
-No harness work

Cons:
-Custom work needed (oil bung, downpipe)
-Heavier
-Harder to do/additional knowledge needed

So I dunno. And with the SR, its gonna be purdy dang exspensive if I mess something up, but you can get KA-T's for $150 stock.

Got thos from 240sx.com
KA24de

LABORS + Existing parts...

i also opted to do some headwork, and a V-mount, so my build would be roughly 7500 with parts etc.

versus

sr20DET

1. notes, stock SR pistons can handle 400hp, but you still must do a HG for what i consider a "safe" build

LABORS + Existing parts...

SR20DET = 1800
shipping = 400
head removal = 100
HG replacement, assuming everything else is copecetic = 200
decking of head = 100

FMIC = 200

6125.00

thats as real as it gets, but the beauty of it is you can in fact do a KAT for under 2 that will yield 400 if you do it yourself and buy some parts used or at deals.... my roomate did it, i think he spent like 1800... and the only thing he'd need for 400 whp was the larger turbo... another 600
