Yeah coming from an old school GM family where that's what you bought when you want a new car. Their quality has slipped majorly. My sisters grand prix they forgot to put oil/valve guides in. Plus it's has numerous other small problems with less than 20k on it. I also heard average wage for a GM employee is 89.00/hr..

I know.. I heard it on one of the news shows either msnbc, bloomberg, or cnn. Think it was in Detroit? Forget which one, but it was when they were talking about GM employees not wanting to loose retirement plans and they'd rather take a pay cut at the time.

Not sure if that's averaged with upper management, or just production workers. But it's not far fetched to me. I remember my dad telling me 10 years ago that they pay like 25.00/hr just for someone who sweeps the floor.

Im still up in the air for my next car...

I really enjoy imports and I really enjoy mini trucks... So im either going to end up with a Chevy Colorado truck (really like their looks) here's an example.

Or... an S14

And of course, it wont stay stock, hehe.

got any specs or what your building?
im pushing almost 400hp from my cam only trans am.

Is your TA an LS1 or LT1?

383 LT1 w/ AFR LT4 heads, giant solid roller cam, single plane intake, D1 ProCharger w/ meth injection, D&D trans, McLeod street twin, 9" w/ 3.89 gears.

I'm in the midst of purchasing the motor and blower from a friend. He sold it to me for an insanely cheap price. Therefore, I'm selling all of my previously acquired stuff for my 500hp 383 I had built. It's a never ending cycle for me. This will be the 4th motor in the car since I bought it in 1998.

99 LS1. im debating selling it right now since im in college and have no money for it. i really want a 5th gen camaro though when they come out. if not ill store it for a few years and eventually to a d1 or f1 set up. i had a ton of mods, magic stick 4, ls6 intake, built transmission, slicks, but needed money so i sold everything off. i think im getting bit by the car bug again though. right now its fun to drive even though the cam is smaller than a hot cam.

sounds like you have a fast little car there :D

a buddy of mine just built a badass ss. 370ci ls1, twin turbos, switching over to a powerglide, 9". made 1050hp a week or so ago and its a street car lol

Hang onto it. I stored my '79TA all through college and loved getting it out when I came home. I was so glad I never sold it. That sucks you had to sell your parts. The LS1 cars are so smooth in the power. I wish I would've gotten interested in them sooner. We have a TBSS for our family car and it hauls ass for an SUV.

What is your friends name? I'm curious if I know him from LS1Tech. It's so easy to make big power w/ LSx motors. The heads are superior in every aspect.

Yes, I am hoping it's fast this time around. The goal has always been 700 at the wheels. I want to go 135 or 10.49 in the 1/4. Even that might not happen legally as I might not put a cage in it. My daughter is only 19 months old and I want to be able to take her w/ me and that'll be difficult w/ a cage. Any faster than what I've listed I need to put a 10pt in and that makes it extremely restrictive in the interior. We'll see how it goes.

i like them all, but i voted asian imports tho. i currently drive a alright civic 4dr tho. currently also working on improving this car. i use it for work and i travel alot it still gets about 36 miles per gal. no body kit yet and no fin, i think majority of the fins look like crap. i personally don't like the look of most out there, and prefer it to look more like a BMW then a race car.

I'll search his name and check out his car. Don't worry about the miles. I've owned my car since 1998 and have only put ~2,000 on it since then. Most of that was the drive from Chicago to SE Pa.

I like asian cars the best.
I dont think that any honda should be modded but the NSX and s2000
I only like the true japanese sports cars like the rx7, 3000gt, supra, sti, evo, 300zx, skylines, silvias, nsx, 350z. I like the sports car look of these.
I dont like the look of muscle cars, they are to boxy. But i do like the new chargers.
Overall i like the imports because of their looks, and because they are fast. And hondas shouldnt be modded, its not ment to be a race car.
