i caught a seagull once, not fun. He caught my bait when casting.

Didn't catch it, but I had an osprey run off with my bait once. I was trolley fishing for kings off the pier with a 12" live bluefish rigged up as bait. I was standing on the other side of the tee and hear my reel clicker start grinding so I go over ready to set the hook. I look down and there is a huge osprey flying off with my bluefish! He's lucky he didn't get hooked either as my bait was rigged full of treble hooks.

Needless to say, that was the only bite I had all day.

One time fishing with my buddy on his boat.Stripper fishing with clams. Two poles in hand. One fish on, fish rips the pole out of my hand.Damn good pole down the tubes.20 minutes later fish on second pole. Reeling it in here comes this clam floating in the air out of the water.Wtf....Oh shoot here comes the other pole. With the fish still on.Two fish and a pole in one shot. Lots of laughs off that one.:headbang2

i've caught mud puppys, my pole 20min after the 20lb carp took it, i reeled in the pole the used the pole to reel in the carp! i was ice fishing and got snaged doesn't happen often so i put my camera down to see a 2000 toyota tacoma quad cab with a lift kit nice truck the most expensive catch i ever had.

a 1.5 meter (around 5 ft) walking catfish. Not really that impressive, but basically the story behind it was. The reason was that I was basically fishing for small catfish with a 15 lb line, and after 30 minutes with the bait in the water, i decide its time for a change of bait. Well I started to reel it in and I just feel this heavy dead weight. I set the drag as tight as possible and I just reel the dead weight in. Apparently what I initially thought was a debris turned out to be a very lazy and lethargic catfish, so when my dad brought it up and he saw the whiskers, he told me to loosen the drag, because not too long after that fish shot straight down to the other side of the pond.

It was a nice catch to say the least, and I was only around 7 or 8 when I caught that fish. My first ever Big Fish.

oh and I once pulled in a motorbike exhaust out of a canal.
