i can remember as kids, my brothers and i had and oscar in a 10 gal tank. he got so big that he could hardly move. i dont remember any of us ever changing water either, just adding some when the water noise was too loud to sleep. poor oscar

My first fish was a large group of guppies. It was my dad's tank that I ended up taking care of for him. It's funny to look back at the filtration that I was using 20+ years ago. We had to keep a large stock of filter floss and carbon. lol. And my substrate was marbles, so the babies could hide and get food.
my first fish was a orange and white comet goldfish that i got when i was 6 and kept him in a 10 gal tank. ten years later hes in the same tank but when i started to get in to fish keeping i ditched his marble substrate and got rocks and added a 2nd filter, i also feed him less than i did when i was 6 hes a great fish and verry personable.
My first recollection of a fish tank was a 20 gallon my parents bought me for chritmas in '86, i was 7. Stocked it with swordtails, mollies, show guppies, and tetra. It stayed running for quite some time, until i got the bright idea to throw some catfish and crayfish in the tank, that i caught in a nearby creek. Got a serious chewing out, but never lost the love for fish now 20 years later i have a 75g sa?ca tank, 30g JD,and a 10g looking to put something in it.

My little brother got two goldfish for his birthday and a 2 gallon tank (I now have a betta in it), after acouple of months he got board with the fish and stopped looking after them.
I went out and bought my 55 and put the two goldfish in it, I bought some more goldfish some Zebra Danios and a Gourami. I still have 5 of the 7 goldfish I bought and the gourami and they all still live in a 75 together.
I took the gourami out and put him into my older brothers community tank (after learning not to mix coldwater and tropical) but he went a depressed and layed on the bottem and didn't eat. After 2 weeks I put him back in with the Goldfish and he was happy again so that where he stays.

My older brother got me a 20 gallon tank when I was like 10 or 11 so that would be 93'. I think the first fish I got was a blue zebra african,maybe. My first American cichlids were O's. I had Albinos,Red's and Tigers!!! Still keep and will always keep O's in my tank.
