What was your first fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
my first fish was a pleco that i bought for $3 when it was 1.5 inches in 1998 )(in 8th grade. I have gone the 11 tanks 4 being SW, when I moved out my parents house it came with me, when we sold our condo he came with me. He's in a 55gal by his self now.

Interesting. My 1st fish were natives (after a 20 year break in the hobby) so long ago I wouldnt have considered myself a true fish keeper. Had 3 bass, a few sunfish, 6 cats and some crawfish in a 30 gallon along with 2 frogs:eek:
In a matter of months we went from a 30, to a 60, to a 100 and to a 125

my first fish and monster fish is a black skirt tetra......and yes, i said monster fish! he's about 6-7 years old and only 1 inch. but it kills EVERYTHING!!! I literally came home from work one day to see that it jumped the tank and was laying on the carpet. It was dry as a bone and i ran it through some tap water only to see it come back to LIFE!!!!! This fish is in a single specimen tank as it will kill everything even arowanas as it has killed two already....on its list of kills include:
2 silver arowanas
10 gold fish
3 plecos
1 dragon goby
1 tire track eel
1 bgk
1 abk
2 black skirts
9 zebras
1 peacock eel
3 baby whales
bunch of guppies
bunch of neons
several betas
parrot fish
gee golly, i can keep going lol

its name is black death by the way and he lives in a heavily planted tank in the dark as he is not to be seen by the public

only fish that has survived him was a pacu and an oscar
