Actually I dont think a gun is a money pit...well if you go the AR route like you said, but a nice solid gun should always hold its value...cars and fish...lol not so much! If that was the case, I have a freezer full of valuable fish Id be selling!

They are great investments. You will NEVER loose money on a quality firearm, even if you shoot the crap out of it as long as you keep it clean. If the worse shall happen you could see that $1,000 rifle turn into a $2,000 rifle over night. Kind of how the $300 dollar Chinese AKMs turned into $1200 rifles over night in '94!!

PLus, unlike fish, you will die before they do!
