In the the pet store
what would u rather prefer having? fresh/salt water aquarium. and why?

i personally think i prefer a freshwater aquarium because its more easy to maintain and the fish are a bit cheap but they still are very beutiful. but in the future i want to get a salt water tank

freshwaster anyday. Saltwater is cool but too much work with care and equipments. Plus, you have lot more selection of cool freashwater fish now then before.

FW for me. I've done SW before. I prefer FW and will stick to it.

Fresh! Ive never liked brightly colored fish, gimme greens and browns any day.

FW here. Salt looks nice, but the fish don't seem to have the same personalities as freshwater ones.

I could care less about the upkeep and which is harder, just something that comes with the hobby. And it's totally untrue about freshwater fish being cheaper.

I wouldnt say that it's totally untrue that freshwater is cheaper,it depends on what you are after. In this area, damsels are the cheapest salt fish and some of the more unusual ones cost more than ten bucks.I currently have one salt and several freshwater tanks running but I intend to shut down and convert the salt tank soon.

I love how saltwater looks, but to be honest, as dedicated as I am as a fishkeeper, I think it would be way too much work for me. Also, the prices of the fish around here are really high, besides I love my freshwater preds.

If I was given a choice between a well stocked saltwater vs a freshwater for free, I'd take the fresh.

SW! i go snorkeling and have cought fish that would be $80 in any retail store. my blennies have just as much personality as oscars minus eating anything that enters the tank. my morays are just as impressive as any pirhana, my french angel fish is WAY more stunning and graceful than any aro. SW is WAY more rewarding. have you ever watched a coral you bought doulbe in size , then split into two , and then trade that frag for another beautiful coral? have you ever felt the excitment of watching the first coral you ever fragged begin to heal, then eat , then get sold for good $$$
you cant cut as fish in half and sell it for the aquarium trade. SW is where its AT!
i dont mind extra work , tests , chemicals , tragedies , expenses , reef aquariums make me want to save our beautiful coral reefs we're destroying.

FW no question... the fish definetly show more personality and i personally like the array of freshwater species out their. there arn't too many "Monsters" you can keep in SW tanks unless they are very large IME. (i know there are SOME exceptions)
