SW for me freshwater fish are so boring and have no color's that are exciting they don't have corals in freshwater ecosystem's and nothing really gets me thrilled when I look at a freshwater tank except when I walk away to view the salt water tank.

I love looking at SW set ups but the cost, my lack of knowledge and time put me off doing it myself. From what I understand you can chop and change your fish easier in a FW and you can't stock SW as heavily.

FW, I will admit SW has more colors but I don't like the shape of the fish. Plus FW is easier to take care of.

FW for me too. more fish per tank than salt. SW looks amazing. i may consider a nano SW sometime in the future but its not in the near future.
plus FW fish are far cheaper than SW fish.

I love S/W - if I had the means$, the time, the knowledge/experience I would love to start one, the variety of fish, coral, live rock, love them all! seahorses, rays, sharks, eels, crabs, shrimps - all so unusual. Angels, triggers, tangs, angler, etc. etc. Colors galore!

But for F/W I love my discus (tho I can't decorate it properly since I have juvies to start off with).

While I understand the appeal of SW, I prefer FW myself. FW being easier and cheaper to maintain definately plays into that, but it just boils down to personal preference. My brother had a 90g SW tank set up for a few years, it was cool....but I always liked my 125g FW setup more.
