I don't give a rats arse how many are like that. ONE is enough.

So you think putting $20K+ worth of rays on ice is justifiable? Newborn pups included?

I don't care who you are or where you're from there is NO justification for such a sickening act. Inhumane in every way shape and form.

So you put no blame on the person with illegal fish whatsoever knowing the consequences? If you're all about the rays wouldn't it be better to try to finds home for your rays after the ban comes up? Instead you openly tell f&w and risk them coming and putting your fish on ice so you can make a stand? Why not rehome your fish and then protest once the fish is already out of harms way instead of making them martyrs?

I put no blame on the fish. Why does it have to die? To prove a point? So it's alright for them to make martyrs out of every fish that just so happened to land in a tank that resides in a state where they are illegal? Should the person be held accountable? Sure. Should they kill all his fish to punish him? Is that fair to the fish?

I don't have to worry about this situation. IF they banned them in my state I'd pack up and move to a legal state.

The talk of them icing an entire collection isn't a theoretical thing. It actually happened.

I would love for a f and w guy to explain why its handled like this....
To preventing idiots releasing illegal species in the ecosystems and it should be consequences and as a punishment for keeping illegal fish. It also serve a purpose to send a message to others to rethinking about keeping illegal fishes. You know we have bad apples in our hobby as well. There's few reports of people releasing piranhas in the waters, especially in Florida and Texas and someone got busted for transporting live Asian carps to Canada borders not too long time ago. We still have these idiots releasing snakeheads in Canada for sakes and still doing it! These people have zero respect for laws and ecosystems so why it should be an exception for the folks in here?

I'm sorry that you feels that way but if you are keeping illegal species then perhaps you should just be quiet? Not all F&W will put down illegal fishes and they often relocated them somewhere till the court day. And praying that there won't be any idiots that think it's good idea to release illegal fish in the waters and boom! A ban is born. Anyways you should be glad that rays are legal in your state so enjoy them.

I rescued a gator in an illegal state thinking that I could find him a good, legal home but come to find out, there are so many gators no zoo or rescue was interested and if I got caught with him my home could be raided as if I was selling drugs and they would put him down on the spot. In the year I had him, I trained this gator to be more docile than most pet lizards but I simply couldn't risk keeping him any more with the all the big mouths in my small community. So now Audrey II resides in someone else's closet due to impractical laws that target quality homes. Needing a permit is one thing but making the permit near impossible to obtain is another. I don't have kids, I have pets, and my pets are better behaved and less dangerous than many people's offspring. Damn the man!

I've heard of numerous first hand accounts of illegal animal seizures that result in a freezer full of dead animals, whether fish, turtles, birds, etc. A minuscule percent of these stories have happy endings.

You should read up some released alligator reports in Minnesota on Google and your bottom jaw will hit the floor. Idiots are what's ruining the fishkeeping and reptilekeeping hobbies.

I know it. We have found gators here too but a total ban is ridiculous. Its like banning pittbulls because of a few dumbchuck owners. Intelligent regulation would be far more effective
