Don't think a lot of people will be in the market for one unless it's special. With the price of gas not a lot of people want to get a "muscle car".
I agree with rallysman here, but it is the first year of the stang, so hopefully that will make it 'special' and help sell it.
I wanted the same as you, something that looked cool, i bought an older camaro on ebay which fell through due to the sellers dishonesty after I drove 3 hours to go get it. Now I'm glad just to have a car, trust me it won't bother you what it is soon after you realize it no longer means your parents have to drive you everywhere. With two grand I hate to say it, but your best bet would be to go with a foreign older car on that, look at something like an mr2 if you still want sporty, although the 3 grand range really opens up your options other than just "something that runs".
Good thing your in FL as older cars stay in better shape there, unlike the rust belt where I am located.
Also keep in mind that gas and insurance (esp. for sport cars, rwd, 2 dr, etc) runs up the bill much quicker, although you may be eligible for discounts w/good grades.

yea, first year of the mustang, we've had a couple people interested. but none fall thru. couple scammers to lol.

I'm sure if I find something I can take a loan from the parents and pay them back.

who knows, i'll keep an eye opened.

my first car was the same car your talking about.Red though.I had it from like 17 to 19.It had a 260 v8.More of a cruiser stang really but lots of fun anyway.i would get you a little mazda truck or ranger for now,you can through up surf racks or whatever and have room for bikes or something.Good on gas.Maybee a nice camper shell for those long weekend trips to god knows where.6x9s behind the seats and a little amp.Do it up,if your like me,low to the ground cars get old after awhile.Cant see around traffic.Good luck.

get a pick up truck... then you can haul old tanks...

I kind of agree.. plus easier to haul fishing crap to go fishing in the summer, etc. Older 2wd mini truck or older toyota 4x4 or something. Or a jeep vehicle.

In the end it's about what fits your taste, which for 2k your taste will be very limited but you can at least try to get a vehicle that fits your personality.

A truck sounds good :D, or somethign that can fit alota people.
I normmaly have like 10 kids at a time in my car, so something that can hold them would be cool.

I'm gona look around and see what i can find.
