Getting married does not have to be a large affair. If she insists, go to town hall & forgo the big partyWe have a lot of stuff. We need to definitely do this. With the small space we need to keep stuff we use within a months time and put the rest in storage or just toss it. I think everyone keeps old college books. We probably have 20 that we keep for some reason or another.
Thanks. I've never thought of it that way. We will probably never have some 300k house so 40-50k would be an accurate accusation of money wasted. I hate wasting money, were very frugal so to actually think of it that way...plainly sucks. Lol
It is a zoo! our apt. is 2 bedrooms and the second is filled with animals. I will say though that most of them are adoptions. I don't think we have paid for a hamster in several years and one of the rabbits were given to us. I think if we had less animals we could put more effort in caring for the ones we have. The rabbits are suppose to be out of their cage for 4 hours a day on avg. That never happens, granted their in huge cages we made for them I'm sure they would like the attention.
I can do 1 and 3. Number 2 might not be an option. Lol
I'm sorry but I laughed. You would be to the curb so fast. How about a female's perspective on the issue?
+1 for marriage - but only if you're sure. I don't live with my BF and won't til we're married. His sister got married and divorced less than a year later. What a waste of about 10 grand after everything was said and done. Personally, I'm waiting for him to step up and prove to me that he can afford to live on his own. If he can live on his own, I can move in with the assurance that I'm there because he wants me there, I'm a luxury item so to speak, not because he needs someone to pay the electric bill. You know what I'm saying?
+1 on saving the money now - Get a storage unit - what? 60/mo? - and save like there's no tomorrow. Buy a house. I was once told to buy a house that will cost half of one person's monthly income. That way, you have a secondary income to live on if whatever happens, and in the meantime, you are still able to save. In this market, that shouldn't be hard at all. Remember, for a decent house, you're gonna have to have thousands of dollars down. Save now.
And, on the topic of marriage not being a large affair - I agree to an extent. It doesn't have to be a million dollar wedding, but I tell you what, if Mike thinks he's gonna marry me at the courthouse, he's got another thing comin....
