WHAT WOULD YOU DO??

there are small species of iguana out there i honestly don't know what the smallest species is or how big they get but considering they don't get big then why not? May be worth having a look up about, but it would need to be let out alot. What would I do with a tank that size? I'd probably get a little 'troop' of leopard geckos LOL. Or maybe set it up for some tokays if you don't mind not handling them? Failing that, sand boas. Honestly don't know their eventual size or requirements but from my understanding they don't get big, don't quote me on that but it may be worth looking up :)

No I'm 99% sure he means green iguana. If he said Madagascan dwarf iguana, desert iguana, or something similiar I wouldnt have a problem. Sand boas! Good suggestion! :D

You can handle tokays. Buy them CB and they are angels. I've held a big tame CB male, he was like a leachianus! Very, very mellow and a tad chubby!

more often than not they have attitude do tokays, it is not the rare one that will bite as with royals or something... its the rare ones that wont. He never said green iguana, he just said iguana so how can you assume?

:)

Eh, but iguanas are synonyms 99.9% of the time for Green Iguana really.

useless arguement really, unless of course you wanted to admit then that i wasn't so wrong in referring a boid to a boa in my other post? not so different from this then. 99.9 % not quite IMO, especially on a forum like this. If somebody is asking what to keep in a glass tank and somebody suggests a *small* (not young) iguana, then I myself would expect the more expeirenced/knowledgable keepers like yourself as an example to know that a small iguana does not always refer to a baby green iguana :) But your right, alot of the time it does.

Yeah, you are right, but I can see where loconorc coming from.

I never really see boids and boa constrictors used interchangeably though; however it is more so with the giant pythons for some reason. Unfortunately iguana is used used interchangeably with the Green dudes.

yeah you do think of green iguana when you hear 'iguana' first, true :) But on a forum like I said, we all should know better :D
Loconorc seems to have good advice (from what I've read) but maybe could do with asking rather than assuming sometimes, may help get the rep he said he had down even more ;)

Maybe I'm not one to talk but I'm trying and open to critisism, though from what I can see we all can be quick to judge and start arguments on here. Anyways just tryna elp :)

I'm not trying to assume, just being reasonable. What are the odds he suggested a desert or malagasy dwarf iguana? Half the herpers dont even know they exist, and they are almost never kept. Anyway, a young green iguana still would not be a good choice... at all... Even if you do have the room.

Thanks, Jessica! :) Appreciate the compliment ;)

On a reptile forum I'd say quite high! Come on... us lot on here aren't the average herpers now are we! LMAO. Not saying your trying to assume, but you definately did this time and thats not a stab at ya, I've had to learn the hard way to tone it down a little and to not just assume alot of the time, and although not quite there I consider myself along with the rest now, if at the argumentive/speaking their mind end LOL. Trust me, people with WANNA listen and take your advice if you say it in the right way. Most the time (especially to stubborn keepers) good advice is nothing without the right attitude :)

I prefer the blunt honest approach with stubborn keepers. They either get a slap in the face by reality or learn the hard way after whining and leaving. Keepers that are open minded can be talked to quite politely with no rush.

Dang my moms putting me on the spot to ask a girl to homecoming... *nervous*
