What Would You Guys Do?

If you really want to be evil and spiteful then report everyone else in the neighborhood except for her. Once everyone realized that she's the only one not being forced to do something then they'll all assume that she reported everyone and the entire neighborhood will turn against her.

My friend has a neighbor like this. They call the city on everything. They use pigeons for dog training they can only have 3 pigeons. Their group builds and reduces due the local population taking some and some coming by for a few days of free food and water. Every time they see more then 3 pigeons they call the city. Same with a camper and boat storage in the yard behind a privacy fence.

These same people park illegally in the street and they have even had me back into their car because they were parked illegally yet they continue to do it and the city does nothing even with calls.

You may have the same problem they could have a friend in the city and can get away with violations.

I also find it out of line that the city can do all they do. Here we have to maintain the boulevard. If we don't keep it fully covered in grass and cut to 2" they will fine you and then charge you ontop of the fine to come and bring it to code. Yet you can't landscape it or cut any part of the live trees as they are city property. If the tree gets blown down they cut up what is in the street or covering the sidewalk. Anything on the boulevard or your yard is your problem. Once you pull the stump they will come and plant a tree they want. They plant elms. There is an issue with dutch elm disease here.

All just more **** the government wants to control and complicate yet they can't even handle the basic things they need to do.

I would report every one. The hell with them. If you have to they have to. F them and do just the min to make the city happy and keep what you want to do. That will piss off who ever complained and they couldn't do anything about it.

If you need 15 pieces of flare, put 15 pieces of flare. Don't be like your neighbors with 30 flare pieces.

I think if she was gonna report you she wouldn't have asked you about it. maybe the reporting neighbor griped to her about your prop and said they were gonna do it, & that's why she asked.

I would not start a neighbor war. that can become years of hell.
I've problems with my neighbors dog digging under the fence to come over and chase my horses. I talked to them about it civilly. they really tried hard. even built a new fence. that dog clenched the brand new bottom boards with his teeth & snapped them off to get back under! owner laid heavy blocks & logs along bottom & dog moved them. he tied him up, but any chance off that line, he was back here.
once while being chased around my prop, I told my horse WHOA and she stopped. I said "it's OK baby, KICK HIM" she cocked her head enough to see him outta one eye, and kicked him right in his head, BAM!. (I didn't even really know she understood me!) LOL. he ran away shaking his head.
but he has returned, staying just out of kicking distance. like a devil

Our other neighbor told owner she wouldn't be as nice as me & will shoot the dog first time, legally protecting livestock. that dog won't even go there, much to my dismay.
I keep a BB gun by doors & windows to scare that mangy thing away. my neighbor knows it, because (ahem) all his kids heard me cracking off pops one day.
I have called the guy at work!!

we are still on good terms because he has tried. he got that >bleep< dog from the pound as an adult, and I KNOW WHY it was taken there! it's a conniving dense outlaw.
incidents have decreased. he is only alive because the horse who would get scared enough to run from him was put to sleep. the one I have left won't hurt herself if chased.

I've dealt with neighbors like the one you mentioned before and I hated one neighborhood where this one guy would report a dog barking even though he was outside antagonizing it & causing it to bark. Afraid I would be spiteful and report all the violations myself, don't think it's fair for one person to have to fix stuff and others not.

anyway, sumo, pardon my big story. point is, I could've reported the dog every time he came on my prop to chase a horse. but I know someone who actually had to sell their place & MOVE to a diff neighborhood just to escape from a real hellish neighbor. it was constant stress.
so I'd really try to avoid feeding something like that, especially by targeting a lady who you DON'T KNOW reported it.

Personally I would have either reported or have a talk with you, pending our relations, about the chickens.

They are dirty, smelly and noisy. God forbid if you actually had a rooster.

We had a neighbor who had a rooster. Unfortunately, it was the week after my son was born. I would feed my son at 4 am, then try to get some sleep and by 5 am the rooster started his business. I talked with my neighbor and he didn't want to get rid of it, during one of the conversations, my wife happened to overheard he say but I want to keep it, she just let him have it. After she was done, the rooster was gone the next day.

I hate to involve the city on stuff, but you really need to think about the neighbors when you do things.

I disagree. Your property and your life is your own business. You don't have to worry about what others do or want.

If you have lowered the property value of my lot because of what you are doing, you're darn right it's my business. I'd start nice though, not calling the city right out of the gates. If you're being stubborn and costing me money, I'd definitely end up calling you in on a violation.

I'd just make sure I didn't have any first.

one of your neighbors is not so nice...but besides that you should never have raised chickens and then have so much action as to sell them and get more.. kids talk.. neighbors talk it is human nature.. if you were doing a couple of chickens for eggs.. that would probably have been okay.. but a business.. you were definitly opening a can of worms.. the other thing you can do is move to the country..like i did..
