had mine since September 2007 never had a problem .. so thats like 7 months or something already ...

or you could just go to some PS3 fanboy site and read some garbage about how 100% of 360's fail ...

fyi ... i have a PS3 as well ... but the online gaming experience for me is 500 times better IMO!!!!!!!

theyve fixed that problem in the newer 360's If i was you Id just get the regular one but it also depends on what you plan on doing with it.

I suggest the elite. I have one and I love it! I've had it for over a year without ANY problems. My friends that have an XBOX have also have no issues.

I've broken 2, and every friend of mine has had theirs break, if you havent had the red ring yet your lucky.

thats because he had one of the very first ones the newer ones will not red ring just go play ur ps3

while the 360 does have its ring of death the ps3 is far from flawless and apparently gets a yellow light of death, i think its yellow. its done me fine for 3 years though and i know people who have had their 360 for years too without problem.

personally i would go for a ps3 and not just because i have one. the net is free for a start and its a great standin if your pc breaks while still making full use of your internet contract you already have without paying another subsrciption.

i used to love the xbox but the ps3 is really the ultimate all in one player. blu ray is here to stay and hd dvd is all but dead. why pay for a console and blu ray player, why not pay one price. its fiscal sense regardless of which brand your a fan of. plus, at last check, the ps3 is the only future proof bluray player. any new features on discs will just need a firmware update where regular blu ray players cannot do this.

however, to the OP's question: the elite, the new one with the motion sensing bar.

Think about it too. The new slim has built-in wifi, but w/ the older ones, you would have to buy a wireless adapter which is like $80 or an ethernet cable.

its cheaper to buy an old 360 and get the adapter then buy the new one without it.

Sorry for the double post. Lots of bluray players nowadays have built-in wifi and ethernet ports to connect to the internet for firmware updates.
