its cheaper to buy an old 360 and get the adapter then buy the new one without it.
I know it's still cheaper to buy an old one and the adapter, but you also get a smaller hard drive.

The only real downside to the slim is that it ONLY comes with standard def cords. I have had my Elite since '07 with no problems and my PS3 Slim for 6 months and the thing freezes at the worst times possible. Tired of this fanboy red ring garbage.

If you don't mind a lack of internal wifi then I say just grab an elite which as far as I know still includes high def cords and it's cheaper.

I don't believe that the new Elites come with the HD cords though. From Engadget,

Get the new slim, they are ridiculously quiet, look great and are a lot smaller than the old xbox's plus with the 250 gb internal harddrive why would you even consider the elite? Just make sure that your tv is hdmi ready and not component only. They slim doesnt have component cables. Also, it has the internal wifi and its kinex ready.

Lol, that is not true at all. The slim ONLY comes with a standard def White,Yellow, Red cord.

So either way a new owner should buy an HDMI cord. The Elites still cheaper so I say:

If you want wifi, get the slim.

If you are just going to plug in an ethernet cord, get the Elite and save some cash.

I think it's kind of dumb though that Microsoft is only including standard def cords when previously the Elite came standard with both HDMI and a HD component cord.

Why are you all campaigning for PS3's when that isn't even one of the options the OP posted? Seriously, it's just annoying, and so far none of you have even posted any useful information that would provide any kind of support for your arguements that the PS3 is better anyway, so what is the point of posting it?

Dear drgnfrc13,
I do recall posting a link to an xbox for sale, trying to be as helpful as possible. Try to remember that every console has "fanboys" and lighthearted badgering between console owners never hurt anyone.
sincerely,
