I'd kick and scratch to get my hands on some longear sunfish. Prettier than discus.

I would have to say chain pickrel or the small mouth bass both are intresting large predatory fish

Yeah the smallmouth i had some crazy patterns on it when it was feeding time.

This thread made me miss my natives. BTW thats all i had in my first fish tank about a year and a half ago.

what about our catfish not just the bullhead that comes in many different colors but the blue, channel, flathead, madtom,and yellow thats all i can think of right off hand but theres the spotted bass too um strugen maybe and bluegills

Lol, you can't go past a native tank. I love Australian natives so much, they are my favourite fish 8D, I can only assume it's the same on your end of the globe?
