My 15" silver aro decided wednesday he had enough of the 8" bass. Found the bass partially scaled and just generally tore up. Seperated the two, but had to put the bass out of its misery yesterday.

i had a jag cichlid bite a catfish in half! wasnt pretty and i cried for my poor catfish!

when i was a little kid, i won a carnival goldfish. my mom had me keep it in a cup by the sink while we went and got a tank. My dad decided to do dishes, and thought it was just a cup of water. Fish got poured down the garbage disposal.

I had a tank in my daughters room when she was younger and she had a friend over, they were playing around and turned the heater up and the next day the water was 94 degrees and all fish were COOKED. No wonder they make some of them automatic now.

I have two:

1. I had a black ghost knife get caught by a fidler crab (this was a long time ago, pre-internet, and they were "new" to the hobby... oh, and I was pretty stupid). The crab basically caught it with its large claw, and proceeded to eat it alive. By the time I got home, the knifefish was dead.

2. More recently, I had a colony of multies. I had not paid attention to the tank for a couple of days, so no clue how long it was in this state... but one day, I was standing near it, and I felt all of this heat coming from somewhere. It was dark, so I could not see in the tank right then. I touched the glass, and it was HOT. I was like, whoa! I turned on the light, and all fish were dead. The heater... a Stealth heater... had malfunctioned, and cooked the fish.

My old green terror was king of my 125 for the year and a half i had him, he was beautiful, still my favorite looking fish i have ever owned, he was not exactly a bully, but if a fish got big with him, he would show it its place in the pecking order... this all ended when my tiger oscar outgrew him, they would liplock occasionally, i didnt think much of it because it was not constant attacks.. One day one of my friends said "Yo, you got a downer, your gonna be pissed" i walk to my tank to find my green terror scale less and finless, i looked at my oscar and he was still eating one of the fins... I hold no grudge on my oscar, i still love him.. R.I.P

when i was a kid we had this big flathead catfish in a 120 gallon tank it rammed itself into the side of the tank one day and shattered the tank. we found it on the floor and it was cut up bad. blood everywhere.
