Whats the one fish you really hate to see in the hobby?

But your also refraining from mentioning most of the canine breeds that are now extinct that where replaced by these domestic breeds, due mainly to villinization and erradication of the very animals we used to create our "domestic dogs". Not to mention every other domestic type animal we've poorly "specially bred" .. personally thats why I support maintaining natural species. I don't have anything against people wanting to keep these man-made abominations. But personally I would like to preserve species.. not create new ones. Natures artwork is imo far better then ours. Thus answering the question....

Hybrids and Genetically altered species are what I hate most. Specifically the ones dyed and injected.. but includeing the X-breds.

YEP! true, monsters gather in a lab to make their desires a reality. Not bad when researching on diseases and health, but it has gone very far now.In dogs, behavior is been altered to make the perfect dog with an ugly face or too violent breeds, sooo not good. When it comes to humans, If i see another me on the streets, I'll kill her... Its important to preserve natural species man!

Actually, I don't believe the skittles glo fish are injected, but instead hybridized. Doesn't make it right, but definitely less cruel.

Glo fish aren't hybridized or injected persae.. they're bio-engineared. they are tampered with on a genetic level with jellyfish DNA iir. Same as how they developed the glow in the dark cats, goldfish ect.. the Glo-fish where as far as I know the first of such creatures. Originally designed to tell scientists the quality of water in a natural system? I'm sure it's googleable.

I've heard coral and jellyfish as the source of the foreign DNA in Glo-Fish. Supposedly they used one to create the first few generations and then the other type to create what we see now. And if you breed them they are supposed to produce colored offspring. Don't know, just what I was told.

Pacu, RTCs, piranhas, oscars, irridescent sharks, columbian sharks, large gars, violet gobies, a lot of marine fish.. Where I live there are so few dedicated keepers though. When walmart and petco are practically your only choice I guess that's to be expected. :/
I used to refuse to order RTCs, common plecos, oscars, pacu and the like. We got so many drop offs purchased at the other stores in such poor condition it was more like running a fish rescue than a LFS.


Eh, boston terriers have pretty bulgy eyes sometimes, and they have glowing cats and pigs now so dogs are probably not far behind, lol!

tattoed fish. if we keep buying them, china will continue to torture fish.

also, i think we should be able to have any fish that we desire. but i think people somehow need to be held liable for the care of the fish. for example, if you want a redtail cat you must sign saying you will provide it with a home for life. and maybe once a year your tank is inspected for conditions and if not met fines are made and rights revoked if need be. it shouldn't have to be this way, but as long as people consider fish such a low lifeform and lacking a soul, fish will be abused and not be given the respect they reserve. this would also deter impulse buys and make sure dedicated owners with a passion for the hobby are the only ones buying demanding fish.
sorry for the rant, but working at a couple of fish stores really formed a strong opinion about these kinds of things.

99% of members on this site seem to have pretty amazing set ups for their fish i would never have thought half the fish i have seen could be kept well in a home aquarium before i became a member here.

All types of goldfish, especially the ones with balloonish eyes.
Those things are hideous looking, and shouldnt have been bred that way. And whenever I go to petsmart and they have them, I always hear kids saying "I just wanna pop their eyes" after they have 3 of them in a bag.
