Whats the ULTIMATE freshwater monster.

Would be more interesting if it was "ultimate freshwater AQUARIUM monster". Obviously a full grown GATF is one hell of a fish, but the fact is in the aquarium they grow rather slowly, are prone to smashing into the glass, and rarely (ever?) reach their full potential. Something like a dovii on the other hand grows like a weed, doesn't tolerate other fish in anything other than massive tanks, huge personality/attitude with a set of teeth to match.

it seems there are huge tigerfish around, but u have to look to find them. its very possible that some low posters have these, but never really show them off.

hmm wat about bullshark, I think they are pretty much the best, and the largest ones are FW

Bull sharks are not freshwater fish, they go to freshwater to breed the right back to the ocean. But while they're in fresh I could see them being the best but this is about freshwater only

already decided to exclude bull sharks, now looking for second place.i don't think aimara would take down all the heavys, so ill like to see some proof

I agree on that point, the criteria is not well defined.

this is a one on one MAX confirmed size contest to see the ultimate fw fish, and the GATF has won, and I wanna know if someone thinks any fish other than gatf can kill a sturgeon, to see second place.

Sturgeons are bottom feeders with mouths like stingrays, would think they could only be considered for one of the biggest not ultimate
