What's this? Another planted tank????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry guys not much activity with this tank. Still need to do my plumbing. Hopefully I can give an update pic in a week or two when I get it plumbed :)

Ok guys finally have a little update for ya'll :)

Finished the plumbing under the stand. Still need to figure out the return. Decided I'm gonna leave this tank with a clear background, so the return lines drain/return lines will be right at the corners so they don't show up in the background.

Here's what you see so far:
- Cascade 1500 canister filter
- 'Cerges' style CO2 reactor
- DIY heater module

The green arrow indicates dirty water coming in. Red arrows is the flow of clean water through the reactor, heater module, and back to the tank. The blue box is where the co2 will enter and get pushed into the reactor with the incoming water.

I HATE surface scum in planted tanks so I picked up this Fluval surface skimmer. This will be the only item that stands out, other than that the tank will be completely free and clear of equipment! I'm thinking of doing an acrylic spray bar as a return along the side pane again so it doesn't become an eye-sore. You already know how I like my setups to be ;)

Cascade 1500 to filter that? amazing, the flow should surely do something with the CO2
Don't let the size fool you, it's a weak ass filter  It barely handled my 55g when I had it running before. I think I'll lose a lot of flow with reactor and heater module, so we'll see. If it ends up creating a whirlpool, I may have to rethink the design!

thanks guys!
