What's this? Another planted tank????

yup! and i have a 1000gph pump on a 57g :) good flow is important in a planted tank. the cascade 1500 is pretty weak anyways. after going through the reactor and inline heater module, it will lose a lot of its flow.

hmm, i see. well, good luck with the rest of it. im planning on redoing my 20 tall and making it fully planted.

You've got me interested in doing a larger version of my 8 litre/2 gallon cherry shrimp cube. How much do 70W metal halide fixtures cost in your area? Only ones I can find online here (Australia) are many, many hundreds of dollars. For lowtech I'd probably better off with power compacts anyway.

this is the one i was thinking of getting. cant beat it for $109!!! lots of people use these fixtures with great reviews. might be worth finding out if they can ship overseas :)

Also, I think you should consider stocking with killifish. Killifish are awesome.
