Ha, dude. Shut your mouth. So because Petco and Petsmart are corporations, I shouldnt bother trying to sell the animals to people that will give them good living conditions. If i worked at a lfs, i should then be more strict with people, unless i didnt want the fish we had in stock anymore.

I think somebody should take a piss in your coffee.

some places ive been to around the states have done sales and giveaways to make room for newer or different stock.

I didnt say be more strict just a fact that people think better of a lfs than a company (if they have both). Plus the boss (even if its yourself) wouldnt have a problem with losing money or geting corporate complaints.

Look guy, I don't want to sell a fish to some douchebag, who's gonna come back and continue to buy fish that'll outgrow his tank. By me being stern with him, maybe it'll pass through his skull-headed mind that what he's doing is wrong.

I even told him what he was doing is wrong, but he didn't really seem to care.

i work at a petsmart and i hate the costumers that try to tell me whats up. saying they have a betta a goldfish and tetra's in her tank and shes trying to return the dead betta. people come into my store wanting a pacu to go with their mollies and i tell them no sorry they get really big and they will eat your fish. they say well how big do they get. i just tell them like a big effing dinner plate and you cant put it in your 10 gallon. people try and tell me what im doing wrong and they think theyre experts. i deny customers fish all the time because they have a goldfish and they want some cichlids. people are ignorant and need to read up on they fish they want to get.

HURRAY!! I recently rescued 2 8" Albino Oscars from a "friend" who had them in an effing 15 GALLON TANK! One had early signs of H.I.T.H., and the other was nearly starved to death. I threw them into a 75 gallon tank to recoup, got them back to health, then helped my sister and brother in-law set up a 125 gallon tank and gave the Oscars to them as a house warming gift. I was never a big "animal freak" or activist until I started my own tank. Now I wonder how I ever got along without my buddies!

Yeah, workin a pet store in a college town is a great way to meet chicks...but it sucks having to tell them they can't get the fish...lol.........then all your hard work goes out the door....lol. Oh well...props to you BRYAN! lol....make me proud!

all I know is the petco in danbury connecticut should be closed down by animal wellfare there fish department has so many case's of ich in there tank's it's horrible . the tankfull of oscar's was the size of a 10gal with 10 4.5''to 5'' fish all covered in ich the sale's person tryed to tell me that though's white spot's were air bubble's stuck to the fish because he just finished a water change on this very tank!! yeah if you're going to say why you at petco! I'm going to say supply's they unfortuniely hav a better selection then my favortie local fish store(FIN'S N THING'S.danbury c.t) this mad me so mad to be lied to with a smile on his face , I felt like slaping him repeatedly with a poison ivy branch and holdin out on the calimine lotion for a few week's and see how he feel's.. Good for you for refusing to sell the guy those fish. I work at a pet store too and I know how annoying it is to deal with those kind of customers. Lots of people come in and say wanting to put tropical fish with goldfish. Then after telling them that goldfish and tropical fish don't go to together then they say that they've done it before. I don't think pet stores should sell iridescent sharks. They get way to big for most people tp keep.

Yeah. For everybody that says places like Petco are crap. It seriously has to do with the manager at that respective store. My manager could easily upgrade the fish section to make it incredibly awesome, which I'm hoping to help do along the way through suggestions.
