What is wrong with my FireMouth Chiclids i feed them three times aday and i have a 60 gallon fliter on a 29 gallon tank.i Bought them because i thought they would be intresting but now i want to selll them for somthing new.Does anyone have ideas on freshwater 29 gallon semi aggressive but will leave my pleco alone

if firemouths dont please you, i think you are just not the fishkeeping sort. you can try small african cichlids like mbuna or tanganyikans but they'll prolly bore you too, if firemouths do.

so the problem is that they bother your pleco? They can be pretty territorial. Maybe trade them at a fish store towards some gourami or something more peaceful

Try getting a small schooling fish, some kind of small fast tetra or minnow. They may concentrate their efforts on the faster fish but not actually be able to catch them. This should also bring them out more. I have firemouths...love them. Maybe your just not a cichlid guy.

Crenicichla compressiceps, Crenicichla regani, Crenicichla notophalotus (sp)...just to name a few options...or try a different Thorichthyses...;)...like aureous blue or sumptin...:P

HAHAHAH, your just trying to raise your post count for the raffle.

Well, if you find any other good fish, I don't know if you read my other thread about how I am getting a 30gallon, but let me know. What was wrong with the firemouths, they seem like cool fish and they were the ones to which I was thinking about getting, I am just curious...

Firemouths are cowards at first but look at a tank and pick out the largest firemouth.. I had one which BlueDempsey as at the moment, which his colors were really nice, a good (bad) dominant fish that chased the other fish around.. I am certainly enjoying the firemouth I have now... OH! and Bluedempsey, how is the firemouth doing anyways?
