My family has always had daschunds...my wifes schnauzer's. So we have one of each. My absolute favorite dog to have would be an Irish Setter.

We've nearly had our Hungarian Vizsla for a year now, and although I haven't had much experience with too many other dogs (labs, foxys, pointer, boarder collie, and of course our beagle/foxy cross who is just as cool in his own way) I'd have to say this breed is amazing. Only down size is they are very full on and need a lot of attention, but she is energetic, friendly, intelligent, mad and gentle all at the same time.
Family pet or hunting dog, they really are a great breed.

This is my Rottweiler x Staffordshire Terrier cross. I love this dog to bits.
