Here is a photo of me when I was younger, on the Amazon River fishing for Piranha. I don't think that piranha living in this habitat could see a human as prey, let alone see their prey at all.

Yeah you may have right, I where not sure that piranhas was one of them.
It may have been crocs instead of piranhas ..

 Yeah - right --- Dream on.

Friend may I offer you a thought.

Albert Einstein was kicked out of school for being a dreamer who the teacher thought was an idiot.

Have care when you try to squash the dreams of others for it was Goethe who said it best:

"Whatever you can do or dream you can.... BEGIN IT! boldness has Genius, and Power Magic in it."

and in the words of Walt Disney "Keep Moving Foward!!"

and in the words of Henry Ford the inventor of the model T "There is a reason why I have made the front windshield so big and the rearview mirror so small!"

Personally, I have been told time an time again that something can not be done. And here I am 12 years later a survivor in the field of foodservice having done something they said could not be done. Amongst the other business matters we are involved in.

There is two dishes that I as a chef so enjoy serving to people. Dishes which those who partake of are actually the chef of.

HUMBLE PIE and CROW

History is replete with people who dared to dream a seemingly impossible dream and yet hindsite shows that they accomplished what they dared to dream of.

Go for it get that great white shark but make sure you have a good supply of feeders :naughty: and a heck of a filtration system.

AND YOU SIMPLY MUST PUT A LAZER ON ITS HEAD now that would be an impossible dream

But piranha eat any meat, so if it's a human with a scratch that is dripping blood, or a crocodile that was in the wrong place at the wrong time, it doesn't matter. They are oportunistic feeders that don't pass up a meal.

They do not specifically target humans as prey. Human presence generally scares them away (See BBCs PLANET EARTH Documentary on Freshwater)

It's clear that shark attacks are nearly all from mistaken identity. (Notice the term used in statistics is shark attacks and not Shark Deaths)

And as for Crocs, they are not out to get you, they are hunting for the source of movement in the water. When you encounter them on land they are generally telling you to step the F back.

Yeah but if I stand in the water aren't the crocs see me as a prey?
I think so anyway ..

No animal has humans as natural prey. Animals who are opertunistic feeders will often times attack humans assuming they are something else.

Yeah - I would agree that humans aren't a natural prey item for any predator.

In the Amazon - humans & piranha often swim within a few feet of each other on a very regular basis. Yet very few people are actually attacked.

And the same is true for sharks. Many species of small coastal sharks often swim within a few feet of swimmers at the beach every summer and at nearly every major beach in the world - most of the time without a major incident.

As for alligators & crocodiles - studies have shown that they will virtually strike at any object placed in front of them & within reach - be it living, dead, or even a stuff toy dipped in fish oil.

this is how it works they taste people find out that we taste bad and most the time spit us out they do not attack unprovoked
