ok i can understand all of your views here guys, but where in the rule books of religion does it say that churches must give all their money away to people.

and furthermore, i like how you assume it was built by naive people? the point of the offering or tithe is to give and donate to bless the church. these people that give to the church know that they are giving money to best benefit the church. the elders of the church decide where this money is best spent. the point of an upbeat and fancy looking church is to attract people to God, if this big aquarium does the trick and one persons' soul is saved, then it was worth it to the church.

now, with all this being said, i assume that the church leaders are doing this for the correct reasons. and i do know there are plenty of televangalists that get busted for some pretty messed up things. they are humans and make mistakes just like you and i, they are just prosecuted because they are supposed to be perfect, which humans are not

If the church needs to bring people in, there are plenty of less expensive ways to do it. If it were a simple tank, or even something larger than average, fine, I would appreciate their effort to be "hip". But to build a structure that rivals what public aquariums display, to me is just wasteful and hypocritical.

I guess being in the god business is good. Money to burn. I would be embarrassed to attend that church.

Thats my first thought! And I think churchs should look nice but not something that even bill gates cant afford....

well, im just glad that you know that they steal ppls money and never did anything good! also, im glad that by looking at a few pictures you can tell the financial situation that the church is in. you really do have some special skills
