I don't see how this defends your argument? You've taken on responsibility for the animal and fail to provide for it accordingly. It's like having a dying family member leave a child behind and you stuff it in a closet and hope for the best.

Ooh, my mistake, LC, one exception to the rule. Refresh my memory on how you acquired your last few geckos and that nile monitor again? Like Tainted said, this little technicality doesn't help your argument at all.

And ditto on what Walls said. I myself used to defend LC and tried to discourage flames on him. But he has time and again proven himself to be ignorant and incapable of retaining useful advice...and on the rare occasion, he does retain it, he chooses not to use it. It's a lost cause; I'm like Z-trip, I dunno why I bother anymore. When LC starts using his brain, maybe then the flames will stop.

how do u figuire my monitor is dying:confused:

You haven't yet gotten it to eat, and it is in an enclosure that is too small, amongst other things I'm sure.

It will get sick and die under your current care. Don't say we didn't tell you so. Please stop buying/taking in herps. It is beyond the point of SAD seeing how your herping experience goes.

I think because he hasn't ate yet and lack of knowledge of care can cause effects that cause an animal to die.

I'm not here to flame. Really building a simple enclosure is not hard. You're talking 2x4's and some wood. I encourage you to take on the project yourself. Should be easy as long as you can drive a nail. Look at z-trips thread for basics on how to do it.

Unless of course you don't have the money or plans to do this, in that case I do suggest you stick to smaller lizards.

That mangrove is too big for you, maybe its time for you to get a new lizard, try go for a blue tongue skink, smaller, but its still big.. It have a big blue tongue unique and cute.. Cutey +++++!!! :D

A live lizard worth more than a dead one :P

Urgh, don't even suggest a BTS... I can't imagine what kind of substrate it will be kept on -- or the temperature. It would sadden me if LC got one and it got mouthrot. What he need is a small lizard that have a strict diet and easy to care for.

Another Suggestion ^^

hmmm smaller lizard.. hmmm maybe you should try a male red head rock agama, smaller and max around 15 inches, reasonable size.

They look like bearded dragon, and can color change. When it gets warmer during day, the color of the male agama changes to blue and red-orange.

Just make sure you dont get a female (they will stay brown).

Smaller, managable lizard :D BUT they are fast.. >.>;;

Any luck getting this guy eating yet? Seriously, build a cage. It's not that hard. Something 8x3x3 is probably the bare minimum, 8x4x4 would be better. If you don't want to build it you could buy a commercial cage from someplace like cagesbydesign but if you have any experience building stuff or know somebody who does you can do as good a job yourself and save some $$$.

If you seriously don't want to build a cage, or don't have the space for one, do like these guys are saying and hold off on big lizards until you can do it right. Personally I always wanted a monitor since I saw my first one (a black roughneck - I was 9 I think). As soon as I was living on my own I got one, and trust me, they're a lot more enjoyable to own if you can really do it right.

welll im not for sure he ate,but i placed a small mouse in the 55 gallon tank, and closed the door to my room, since i havent gotten him to eat in front of me.then when i came back it was no where to be found.i looked under the wood and little bark house and still havent found it,unless it escaped i think he ate it,but like i said not positiveley sure.im buying some feeder minnows for him today.
