so he now bumps the thread?

what part of "dont get a pacu" did you not understand from everyone?

you have a small tank, already have a pacu you cant house properly, and chances are like almost every other person that buys a pacu you never will be able to house it or find it a proper home.

its time to pull your head out of your rear and grow up. you cant handle this fish, theres no shame in that since neither can 99% of the rest of the population. just get over it already and find a different fish you actually can house and care for long term YOURSELF, without hoping and praying someone else will take on YOUR responsibility after it gets to be too much and too large to handle

You all need to :chillpill:. He says he has plans to rehome it when it outgrows his tank, so why don't you all just take his word for it and get off his case?

yeah its his decission all he asked was where he could find one just answer the question or dont say anything

A better question would be.,... in the OP's other thread he says he got a black pacu for $5 but is refusing to post pictures of it. And now he's bumping this thread?

So that begs the question, how many ginormous fish are you planning to put in this tank you have already said won't hold one adult pacu?

If you are to be beleived, you already have a red bellied, just bought a black one and are now bumping a thread to try and buy another black to put into a tank that as is by your admission, too small.
He didn't actually say he got it, he said he would be getting it the next week after his post, so for all we know, there could have been a problem with the lfs and they didn't get them in when they said they would. I know that's happened to me before.

One problem: the pond isnt his. And please dont tell us chill out, we just try lead him away from getting this black pacu as we knew he cant house it properly and we dont know if the pond owner will let him dump in his pond.

I assume he has already discussed it with the pond's owner since he said he would take it. Anyway, I'm going to try to stop derailing this thread now.

I believe the word you wanted was sense.

The only folks here with any sense are those encouraging proper care for the animal and for responsible husbandry.

Has your red bellied pacu been moved yet? If fed properly it will out grow a 55 in 3-4 months and I know you have had it since Dec... it must be time to get it to a bigger tank by now. When they are young they grow a little more than an inch a month.

Why do you want to get a fish only to pass on the responsibility for its care 3 months later? (That is a very serious question. Its a concept I really can't understand.)

I just dont get it why others support his idea and knew that OP has a 55gal tank that have already redbelly pacu in it. Im not flaming this OP, and yet he is flaming at us because he don't like what we said to him. I just dont get why he need a black pacu so BADLY and knew he will dump it in a pond that is not his in few months, whats the fun in it?

This is exactly why I joined monsterfishkeepers. People are actually looking out for the good of the fish. People have the knowledge and experience to know what’s going to work and what’s not. I like that people do everything they can to lead ignorant people away from an obviously bad decision.
