Where do you keep your fish? - POLL

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
4 tanks (10, 90, 90, 135 gallon) in a finished basement in a former bedroom - now a fish room; plus one tank in a hallway in the basement.

Used to have a tank in the living room upstairs but when we renovated and got new flooring, the wife said "no more up here."

115 in my office/man cave, 325 in connected side room, 325 and 88 in (former) bedroom and 375 in front room. I think tank placement is a lot easier when you're single. For that matter I have a de-commissioned and restored early 90's Honda race bike in my front room, pretty sure most wives/girlfriends wouldn't tolerate that.

My brother built a gyrocopter in his living room after he got married.

POLL RESULTS - :nilly:
Ok folks looking at the results we can sort of categorize the information to get a feel for where we as a group keep our fish.
The results are general as some kept tanks in unusual places such as "niches", closets, bathrooms, kitchens and hallways. These were just a few posters in general. The majority of us don't have tanks in the bathrooms and closets!
Over a 3rd of us have tanks (sometimes more than one) in the living room/ dining room area.
Only about 15% keep tanks in the bedroom (considered bad karma by some Japanese, I myself have 1 in the bedroom and one coming for the living room).
Slightly less, about 12% have tanks in the Den/ family room/ man cave.
At least 25% of this fish keepers have fish rooms of some sort. Only about 8% have only a fish room. Most who have fish rooms have tanks in other areas of the house.
About 10-12% have tanks generally all over the house (different places). The majority of these have a fish room also.
Only about 4% just have tanks at the office. About half that if the office is not part of the house.

Thanks for all the responses! A lot of you were very open and I appreciate that.

Hello MFK!
I think this is the best thread I have ever posted and the one I enjoy the most. Lots of people responded and really it was just a great group thing. So just thought I would throw this bump out for those who haven't seen it or those that didn't "poll" in the first time.
