My local Walmart's largest aquarium is 55 gallons. Petsmart can order a 150 gallon aquarium, but they say it costs $500 for the aquarium alone. My local fish stores want close to 1k for a 150 and also have to order it. Petsmart has a 120 for $330, which is about what I'd like to pay for a 150. Is that unreasonable? Is there anywhere else I could be shopping? Maybe online?

Nice 55 gall at Walmart . In my local Walmart its 10 gallon tanks only . I am looking at 125 gallon or 165 but have to ofcourse have pet store deliver it .

I can't carry a 125 by myself and doesn't fit in my car .

Craigslist. I have bought many tanks there at a steal.

I would think that would be a huge risk as tank could have slight glass crack, leaks, etc and once you buy it you own it unlike LFS tank which has gaurantee for few months .

Louie, you might be able to rent truck from Uhaul pretty cheap. And yeah, I really like the Walmart 55 gallon, I have two. Very cheap, does everything I need. They just don't have anything bigger :(.

That's awesome that some of you guys have found good deals on CL. Whenever I look I see people selling stuff priced above even new stuff. Maybe I have to haggle with these people, but I would have to go a long way. This seems ridiculous to me, I bought my whole kit from Walmart more than $100 less, brand new.

:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL: That is the walmart kit, some dumbass will probably buy it, but I have gotten all of my tanks from craigslist and have gotten some excellent deals. Maybe I'm just lucky. I often have to watch and wait quite a while to get exactly what i want, and I have had to do a little haggling at times...

Your pretty far off on that. Cracks are easy to see, and as far as leaks are concerned, I reseal any used aquarium anyway. I've bought 3 aquariums on craigslist. Two 55 gallons that came as a pair for 50 bucks plus a few lights and an HOB filter. The other is my 150 that I got for 60 bucks. All three tanks are great and all they took was a little patience and diligence*.

There are some good deals on Craigslist. You just have to check it pretty regularly, they go fast. Brothers Pets sometimes has some used ones, but can be a little more expensive. Paradise Aquatics takes tradein and sometimes have used. I think if you ask and leave your info, they will let you know when one comes in. Petland in Olathe can order pretty reasonable sometimea also. The store in the mall of the great plains gets used and can order and I think they will price match/beat competitor prices. Hope that helps

Paradise Aquatics in OP has the best deal on new tanks for KC, get on their email list so you can see the monthly specials...The LFS in the Great Mall, be careful when dealing with them, that's all I'll say on that subject..

What size where you looking for?
