Calgary's hard water may be what prevented him killing his ray with the salt dip. Osmotic shock probably killed Gshock's.
This could've been a possible explanation, BUT, now that i review my previous posts, i used 1/2 pound of salt in FIVE gallons of water instead of 2. Whether it is was a mistake or becuase i thought the previous ratio was just completely idiotic, I have no clue about. lower pH DOES increase the affect of salinity, and could've been a possible explanation for my death, BUT the fact that i decreased the amount of salt by more than half of what was stated already makes up for the fact that my water is slightly softer than what is in calgary. I think Calgary's Salt Treatment is Snake Oil and I'd never submit a ray to such abuse.
Unless your ray was gonna die in the next 1/2 hour anyway, something about the salt treatment killed it. Osmotic Shock is the most likely explanation.

Im pretty sure I'd get support from nic if he wasn't driven away, its not like he hasnt done it. There's no future benefit - we already know how much salt is safe and works. Calgary's idea was wrong-headed, you said as much yourself.
