Please vote.... i need a new filter and the other half is sensitive to noise!!

I think this might be useful for anyone who's got a tank in their living room...

I don't know about any of the others, but I have to check to make sure my classics are running all the time.

I have only owned Eheim filters, and all of them have been pretty quite.

But here is part of an article about the FX5 and 2080 being compared, maybe that will give you a better example on those two filters.

NOISE
Both filters are quiet by modern standards but the Fluval is a lot noiser then the Eheim measuring out at 43db @ 1 meter vs the Eheims 19db !

I have no idea, someone will have to dig up some reviews on the other types of filters if you want to compare db

FX5. I had it right next to my bed and it didn't make no sound.

i have a fluval fx5. it's my first canister, so i can't give a fair comparison but i do know that my fx5 is quiet. i can't hear it, at all.

I have 2 fluval 404s, neither is silent. Both produce a soft hum that can be heard from several feet away.

I have a fluval 404 and several XP series of filters. All of them are extremely quiet.
