If you want a glassbanger just walk up and punch your aquarium, because you obviously have no need for a fish.

What is you're problem??

Just pay no mind and keep it moving.
I would go with FH personally. Only problem with them is that you usually have to go big bucks or settle with a less than splendid specimen. Butti, on the other hand, are almost always beautiful and nasty.

IDK who would win but I had butti that was a beast. FH's are better looking tho!!!

I'd go with the buttikofferi. At least that's a real fish! And good-looking and darn nasty to boot!

ps to Cichlid Fiend: I demand a recount! If having the most species makes it the best cichlid, it's Apistogramma all the way!

While we are on the topic of tilapia:

Does anybody own or evr seen a "tilapia joker" in person

The late Don Walz had T. joka going back in the 80s. It's a nice fish. I don't think I've seen them since. BTW, he had T. buttikofferi that were every bit of 24", too. Those were incredible.

I was able to get some T. ruweti in from Germany late last year and may have more in the next few weeks. That's a much smaller fish, growing to about 5" but really good-looking (the few pics I've seen don't do them justice). It's a pit spawner from the Okavongo Delta.
