Which has more glassbanger potential?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
no all fhs are glassbangers.. Most are not actually. I've kept lots of them b4.

So I say Butti.

I dont know...This Butti looks pretty damn good.

Looks like "joker" to me!!

Butti are black and white, jokers are yellow and black!!

If You want a glassbanger then why not get a midas? I say the Fh would be a better chance of becoming a glassbanger but depends on the individual.

Most happy and healthy Butti's will have yellow stripes in my experience...especially with as close to no nitrates as possible.

T. Joka is a different fish.

IDK, you seem to have more experience then I do!!!

I said what I said because every butti I seen was black and white!!

I quess ur right, thanks for the info!!!

no problem. The guy I got mine from always said he could tell if the nitrates were getting higher by the buttis stripes. I dont know if theres any truth to that, but mine would be yellow for a few days after water changes, then ivory or white the closer I got to needing to do water change. That was before I did 50% weekly changes, so I wouldnt mind getting one now and see if that holds true.

Ya I know but that type of behavior is normally CA/SA territory thats why I posted it here. Not much glassbanging in africans and FH forum is all about strains and colors
Thought the best place to get a good answer would be in this forum. Forgot about the rule that for the most part the letters "f" and "h" cannot occur in the same sentence in ca/sa forum.

If this behavior is normally typical of SA/CA cichlids, wouldn't it make sense to choose from these.:D

Thanks again for the good input!!!

On that tho, it makes me feel alittle bad cause I had a butti for almost a year and mine never went yellow :(.

I was much greener at that point tho, WAY over stocked, and 8 dozens of small gold fish a week :banhim:!!!!!!!!!!!!

YW. It sounds like you learned from past situations, and theres not much better than that. Ive done some things myself in the past that I didnt know werent the right thing to do, so dont feel like The Lone Ranger!

Thats the good thing about here. We can learn from others and spread the wealth of our experiences, bad and good. I know I would have done some really stupid things had it not been for some of the other people sharing their experiences.
