YW. It sounds like you learned from past situations, and theres not much better than that. Ive done some things myself in the past that I didnt know werent the right thing to do, so dont feel like The Lone Ranger!

Thats the good thing about here. We can learn from others and spread the wealth of our experiences, bad and good. I know I would have done some really stupid things had it not been for some of the other people sharing their experiences.

True indeed!!!

Thanks again and very good convo boss!!!

Thanks for the info!!!

How about these???

http://www.jjphoto.dk/fish_archive/aquarium/tilapia_louka.htm

I also did a search of the fish you mentioned but I didnt come up wih much. Do u have a pic??

I'll attach pics of the T. ruweti. Bear in mind, this is a 5" fish and the ones pictured are under 2" so it's not a good candidate for the original topic of this discussion.

Back to the topic at hand, the color on buttikofferi has somewhat to do with age, too. They need to get a little size before they start showing the yellow color. As adults, when they're really unhappy they look like dark gray/light gray fish and the pattern gets kinda muddy. Small ones should be pretty readily available. I've gotten them in a few times in the last 5 years or so but they never sell well and have a bad tendency to tie up a tank for a few months so I'm always hesitant to get them but they are on the list from numerous exporters in Asia every week.

And now back to yet another topic, there may be over 100 Crenicichla but there are app. 200 Apistgramma, making that the most populous cichlid genus at this time. It is pretty clear, though, that the genus will eventually be split and many of the species complexes will become genera in their own right.

Thanks for the input but im not changing my signature!!!

LOL!!!

I can see the butti not selling to well for a few reasons. Here where I am they are very easy to get and I go to alot of LFS's and people are bringing them back. Cause they are beasting their tanks.

Great pic and info once again!!!

my midas would whoop either of them

Theres the intellectual discourse I expected from an emotional amateur. It wasnt about who could whoop who corky. Fish fighting on purpose and comments about it are moronic.
