I had a 4 inch midas beat up on my foot long Pacu.

I gave my midas to a new home after seeing that display.

anyways I'm new here so what category would a Pacu fit under?

Oh jeez, I hear all that jazz about the dovii and the umbie and i'm sure they are up there but i've never had them, so I can't say. I bet a big pike like a lugabris or something would knock most fishes socks off.

IMO most fish are more aggressive to their own kind especially M-M but we all wanna know who beats who in a fight so it kind of makes it harder. When I was a kid I had a devil scale my big severum, I killed that bastard on the spot, but it was my fault not his.

I have kept quite a few grammodes, but my biggest one was (highly unexpectedly) killed by my regani. I guess I have to go with regani here haha.

My Flowerhorn dominates my current tank nothing comes close (he is in with Midas, JD's, GT's, Texas, Biffa, Jewels, Convicts)

Hes killed two Oscars so far, not going to risk them anymore.

I would say flowerhorns, red devils, and Buttikoferi's. out of all the butti is Def> the meanest he would pound anyone who came close to him. he would attack me through the glass and ram it full speed. crazy fish I tell ya.

A breeding pair of Jags, no doubt. They will decimate anyone they're not comfortable with.

I would not agree, When I had my pair of Jack dempsey the female did all the work taking care of the fry, fighting off the red devil, and theres the male getting smashed into a corner by my butti would not agree.

Who is the baddest america cichlid i would say dovi but im tryin to see what everyone thinks
many might disagree, but if the question is one of AGRESSION, i'll pick any in the Red Devil family. 99/100 never a matter of "uh, it depends on the fish." Red Devil family brings it; no question.

Among large cichlids, in my experience, the Buttikoferi. Once they hit 4 or 5 inches, they are simply relentless. As for actual new world cichlids, the midas and then the jag. I've never had an opportunity to own a dovii though.....
