Which one S. manueli to choose? :)

How do you maintance the plants? do you use special kind of lighting or just turn on the lighting 12 hours/day?
I try planting some greens but they do not live very long time, eventually died within 1-2weeks

I've two 54W T5 Philips Master 865 6500K bulbs and as you said just turn on the lighting 12 hours/day I only put some Ferka capsules under the substrate few weeks ago because Seachem Purigen and PhosGuard removed to much nitrates and phosphates and killed my Vallisneria plants.

Your thread makes me miss keeping piranha. Keep them for over 17 years and always wanted to grow a manueli. Maybe one day again, but I just don't have space for a second tank these days.

I have Cryptocoryne balansae, Cryptocoryne usteriana, Cryptoctocoryne wendtii 'green' and 'brown', few species of Anubias plants, Crinum calamistratum, Microsorum pteropus 'Narrow'.

Super nice Manueli piranha!!!!!

It's very nice to see a thread like this on piranha. So many "traditional" forums don't have these threads any longer. I guess the masses have moved mostly to social media places. I will always prefer these types of threads on these types of forums.....much easier to follow and far more organized I think. Also, it's nice to be able to revisit a thread like this and see all the progression pics in one place.

Thank you so much for such kind words. It's so sad that piranha forums are dying. I was writing on another piranha forum in the past but now it is almost dead (I'm not a fan of FB and other similar platforms and also prefer these types of forums).

Which forum? Piranhakeepers is gone now. I don’t check pfury but pretty sure it’s dead.

Same for me. I remember when those forums were busy as hell. Everyone was selling and trading. It was nice. Now either everyone is holding on to what they want or using craigslist..
