First of all, I've had bad luck with birds. My first one, a cockatiel. Great bird, I was upstairs and it get scared and jumped off. Cat was nearby and got it. Good thing my mom was nearby(her cats, but she liked the bird) because I probably would have thrown it off the deck.(I dont like most cats)(His name was Cheeko)
Second Bird was a sun conure, loved it most of the time(was soooooooo loud). Well I was giving it its weekly bath in the bathtub with very little water in it and something made me leave for like two min. Well Cheech got his beak stuck in the metal grate and drowned.
I vowed I wouldnt try to do birds again untill now, im really missing having one.
Heres what I want to have in a bird:
Smart
Quieter than a sun conure
Nice
Funny
It doesnt matter the kind, Im currently looking into bigger types.
What kinds do you think fit that criteria?
Im also looking into adopting one. I always used to see cuckatoos and other types of parrots in the free trader(when I used to read it), so I put a wanted ad in the paper. If the bird seems nice and in good health, Is there any bad side effects to adopting a bird?
