I have a choice between buying a 210 gallon tank (7x2x2) made with 3/4" acrylic and including a stand, lights, 60g sump, and powerhead for $500 or a 240 gallon glass tank (8x2x2) with stand, lights, small driftwood and heater (but no filters) for $450. They're both in about the same condition.

Which one do you think is the better deal?

Which tank is more durable and easier to take care of in the long run?

This is my first real monster tank so I want to pick the right one.
Thanks for your help.

Damn thats a tough one. 240 here too.

Oh I forgot to mention that the guy selling the 210g said he might be able to deliver it for me for an extra fee, but the guy selling the 240g said he couldn't and I would have to rent a u-haul truck to move it.

Thanks for the replies so far and please keep em coming.

get the glass it will just be a pain to move though.

how many times are you planning on moving it? seriously over the time you'll have the tank it'll be running alot longer than it'll be moving and when it's running and you've got some monsters in it you'll miss that extra gallonage.

The 210 gal It's a good size and comes with a sump and stand. It has more.

The 240 gal glass would be hell to move or reseal.

I would go for 210 gal for sure.

Well, glass is much more durable, and much easier to clean with out scratching it, but it does weigh a lot more. Acrylic is much lighter, but scratches easier. Its really all up to your personal choice. I myself prefer glass. My biggest glass tank is 450 gallons and weighs almost 800 lbs empty. I have acrylic tanks too that I like.
