i've never heard of a glowing rod, that would be pretty cool, although i've only night fished a few times, and last time i got the crap bit out of me by mosquitos. hmm, i've never heard of power pro, is it a braided line or a fluorocarbon?

lol, i love seeing fish like that. i would have tried for him anyway, never know until you try, maybe you would have landed him, or maybe he would have stripped all your line in one run and you'd have one hell of a story.
yes power pro is a braided line, i have used many braided lines stren super braid, stren micrfuse, spiderwire, fireline,fireline crystal,sufix performance braid. None of them are better then power pro. I dont know what power pro does different but it sure is a better line, more abrassion resistant, better knot strength (exept for 5,8,10 pound test), more backlass/wind resitant, sesative feeling.
Ive used it for all fishing. i tend to break my hooks off of jig heads and stuff cuz its so strong. ive brought in logs, massive chunks of ice some times rocks. when i use my catfish rods and they get snagged i can feel it move and turn over the rocks and comes free of the snag (60 pound i fish for big flatheads and massive channels). its sesative enough i feel all the rocks and such in the river when iam drift fishing for the light biteing steelhead trout. just last week my cuz caught a 15 pound lake trout on 5 pound power pro. and this fall i caught a 18 pound king salmon, fresh up the river with 8 pound power pro.

sweet guess i know what line i'll be getting. so now what style of rod should i get, baitcasting or spinning.
You will not regret this buy. Got my ugly stik at 4yrs old and im 15 and it has still not let me down
unfortunately, i went in with $63 cash in my wallet and the rod, which was marked 34.99, turned out to be 59.99, so i walked out with a 7' med-heavy catmaster combo for $30 because i thought it had a glowing tip. was out until 1am last night in 40* weather, the f*ing tip doesn't glow and zero bites. i'm getting the ugly stick next paycheck.
really? i guess i'll try it, i figured they just had painted the tip a flouresent yellow, have you ever used the catmaster?
Never used it, but I sold several (used to work pt at a sporting goods store). They are good rods for heavy cats, not really much else on your list. If you bought the combo, the reel isn't great.Danyal;2602668; said:
