which would you choose

well put it this way, you have all purebreds in your tank and the bb is purebred to but the fh isnt, so i say get the bb and stay with purebreds

im usually one who will always go for pure bred fish, but if you want to base this off looks, i myself would go for the fh. haha no one hate on me for this but i think that black belts are kinda ugly for cichlids... and plus the flower horn will be real aggressive which is always fun to have a fish, but on the downside if you plan on always keeping it in a community tank that could be problem

They both have the potential to be great fish. IMO, don't really matter if the FH is "AAA grade" or whatever, it is a mighty pretty fish.
The anti-hybrid sentiment is just something you will get from some folks, and not from others. As you are at least considering a FH then you are clearly not totally anti-hybrid.
Mixing any big cichlids in a community situation is always going to invlove a small measure of luck for any success.
the FH probably has more chance of being more aggresive as an adult, although it also easily work out.
What size is your tank ? Sorry if I missed it. If you are thinking trying to mix a con, a tex and another large cichlid in a 75 gallon for instance, it is probably bound for failure.

Blackbelt.

ok ok enough ha ha,i have nothing against hybrids and as for jags i had a pair before awsome fish but want to try something different,my tank is 108 gallons so for our friends across the pond thats 126 gallons us (i think).
