I'm not a betta expert but I do know that it's beautiful. I've never seen one like it!

I tried to take a new pic..for some reason it just did not come out very well..took pics of the frontosa and africans tonight and those pics were fine..must be the betta lighting but here is one if it helps,,, i will try again with the light off.

Yeah, I think it's a male judging from the shape of its body and proportion of its head to body as well as fins. Just raise him well, into a showpiece.
