LOL parasites, fungal, hex, viral, melifix, metro. You got all kind of advises or just speculation. I don't think anyone knows what is causing it.

I'll offer my 2 cent advise. If all other fish are doing fine, do nothing, observe and keep up with regular water changes and hope the fish will recover itself. Without diagnosing what is causing it and applying medication indiscriminately to the entire tank with healthy tankmates may do more harm than good. If the fish gets worse, isolate him in a hospital tank and try some broad spectrum anti fungal anti parasite medication and hope it works. From time to time, fish can develop congenital diseases that cannot be explained and not necessarily contagious.

just an FYI melifix and pimifix are benign, they will not hurt the fish or stress there organs, they are just a natural bacterial and fungal inhibitor. if keeping the water pristine and dosing them does not help then yes by all means move to a hospital tank and dose with more potent stuff.

Melifix and pimifix are herbal medicine, not benign as commonly perceived and marketed. There have been reports that sensitive fish like Tanganyikan cichlid were killed by melifix treatment. Same with human herbal medicine that is not necessarily benign and can have toxicity side effects except that that they are not subject to thorough testing by Food and Drug Administration.

I believe my first impression was correct, treat with metronidazol or API general cure. It is Hex and as you can see it is contagious. Treat the whole tank, if you don't have any salt sensitive fish you can salt at 1 tablespoon per 5 gals of water along with the metro or GC. The second picture looked as though it could have been fungal but it isn't it is hexamita. Treat as I suggested and they should be fine, a little scared but they'll live. Keep the water clean with water changes between dosages as directed on the package.

Ok thank you I will treat tank right away
